| Description |
Wet Roll is a molecularly bonded hydrophilic coating for
rubber metering rollers and bareback rollers. When applied Wet
Roll overcomes the natural tendency for the rubber to pick up
ink. The Wet Roll treated surface becomes better at holding
and transferring moisture. The result is more even laydown
moisture on the plate and better, sharper printing.
Advantages of Wet Roll
- Provides even dampening across the entire roller surface
- Allows thin film of water to go forward freely
- Reduces usage of alcohol (IPA) and substitutes
- Part of the better water control procedure
- Will not harm rollers
- Eliminates excess ink pickup by rubber dampening rollers
Directions for use
- Clean metering roller thoroughly with good roller wash
to remove oily or greasy film.
- Apply Wet Roll with a clean wipe using a rubbing
action until Wet Roll does not bead up, and entire surface
is glistening wet.
- Let surface dry thoroughly. A better alternative is to
use a hot air gun or hair dryer to dry the Wet Roll. Light
heat bonds Wet Roll to the surface.
- Repeat application twice when treating roller for the
first time.
- Repeat as necessary, depending on operating conditions.
